It is with a deep sense of loss that the entire community of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti commiserates with the family of late Dr. Mrs. Chinwe Joy Obiora on her untimely demise. The death of Dr. Chinwe Obiora on October 9, 2014, came as a shock to the FUOYE community. This sad incident is more painful given that it occurred barely a year after she joined the university as an academic staff in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension.
Dr. Mrs. Obiora was an astute scholar whose research interest in climate change with a view to finding solutions to the problems of this phenomenon and its effect on agriculture was remarkable. Her uncommon dedication to her job was the only consideration for her to be on the road on that fateful Thursday afternoon.
She was very humble, resourceful, unassuming and got along very well with both her colleagues and students.
We join her family in praying for the repose of her soul. We also ask God to grant her entire family the fortitude to bear the loss.
