    COREN inducts 641 FUOYE graduates

    Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) in conjunction with the Faculty of Engineering, Federal University Oye- Ekiti (FUOYE) held 6th Induction of Graduating Engineering Students & Award ceremony and 5th Professor Chinedu Nebo Faculty Lecture Series with the theme “Engineering Entrepreneurship: A Pathway to Economic Independence for Nigeria Youth on Wednesday 19th February, 2025 at the Faculty of Engineering hall at the Ikole campus of the university.

    However, the Council inducted no fewer than 641 graduates from the Faculty of Engineering of the institution from seven Departments.

    In his welcome address, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Engineer (Professor) Olaitan Akinsanmi welcomed participants and guests to the occasion.

    He said: “It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 6th Induction ceremony of graduate Engineers from our own prestigious Federal University Oye- Ekiti (FUOYE) into the Council of Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria.

    “It is always a unique event as it ushers in the convocation ceremony of this prestigious university.

    “Our Faculty has produced young men and women who are doing great exploits within and outside the shores of the country. Our graduates are doing us proud.

    “Let me appreciate our amiable Vice- Chancellor, Professor Sunday Abayomi Fasina for his support to the Faculty and to all the university management here present.”

    Declaring the event open, the Vice- Chancellor, Professor Sunday Abayomi Fasina addressed the new inductees, participants and guests with his address delivered by Professor Olusegun Adéyemí, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture.

    Professor Fasina emphasized the importance of resilience, integrity, and ethical practice as they begin their engineering careers, urging them to uphold these values as they enter the profession.

    He urged the engineers to be God-fearing and good ambassadors of the university.

    Professor Fasina said that by virtue of the training they received, it was expected that they would show resilience and humanity in their engineering practice.

    The induction ceremony and oath taking were administered by COREN President.

    The event also witnessed lectures delivered by Technical Adviser to Ekiti state Governor, Engineer Tope Fatukasi and Editor/CEO, Motoring World International Nigeria, Mr Femi Owoye.
