Acting Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, Prof. Olubunmi Samuel Shittu has extended his heartfelt felicitations to Christians’ members of the university community, urging them to imbibe the enduring virtues of love and selfless sacrifice exemplified by Jesus Christ.
In a statement released by the university Public Relations Officer, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede, the Acting Vice-Chancellor emphasized that the noble virtues remained indispensable to fostering the unity and cohesion the university so urgently required, especially in a time when narrow and sectional interests threatened to erode the bonds that held the university together.
He, however, called on the university community to unite in prayer and purpose for the peace and progress of FUOYE.
It reads: “On behalf of my family, Governing Council, Senate members, management, members of staff and students of this great Citadel of Learning, I join our Christian brothers and sisters in celebrating Easter — a sacred moment that commemorates the profound sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
“It is a season that calls for deep introspection, compassion, and reaching out to those in need.
“Let us remain steadfast in the pursuit of unity, peace and love. Our strength lies in our togetherness. A university united in love shall always endure and flourish,.
“We must be guided by the principles of sacrifice, love, and charity. It is only through sincere collaboration that we can heal and renew our hope. Happy Easter. “
