    Eid-el-Kabir: Fasina Congratulates Muslim Staff, Preaches Sacrifice, Love, peace

    Vice-Chancellor Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, Nigeria, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina has congratulated Muslim staff for witnessing this year’s Eid-el-kabir, saying it was nothing but a çelebration of God’s love and mercy to mankind.

    The Vice-Chancellor in a goodwill message, urged the Muslim staff to imbibe lessons of love and sacrifice which the season symbolises as they celebrate Eid-el-kabir today.

    Specifically, Prof. Fasina urged them to learn from Prophet Ibrahim, who submitted to the will of Allah by sacrificing his son based on Allah’s directives just as he tasked them on the significance of the sacrifice as symnolised by the Eid-el-kabir with a view to promoting the virtues of Islam.

    He said: “The festivities that we are celebrating today is borned out of the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim as exemplified by Prophet Muhammed (SAW). Therefore, it is our duty to reflect on their examples by upholding the threshold of peace at all times.

    “Also, the celebration of Eld-el-kabir is to remind us of the commandment of God to show love to one another and uphold peaceful interpersonal relationship.

    “As we celebrate today, we must ensure that we extend good tidings of support and charity to one another.

    “It is my sincere wish that we celebrate in moderation, reflect on the lessons of the ceremony, show love to one another, work and pray for the greater level of peace on campus.

    “May Allah accept our worship as an act of Ibadah.
