The Vice-Chancellor Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, Nigeria, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina has rejoiced with the Muslim staff of the university community as they marked this year’s birthday of Prophet Mohammed (S A W), Eid-ul-Mawlid, while describing Prophet Mohammed (S A W) as a perfect example for humanity with legacies of piety, patience, peace and perseverance which underscored the very essence of celebrating his birthday.
Professor Fasina in a statement by the university Public Relations Officer, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede enjoined the Muslim staff to emulate the Holy Prophet Mohammed’s (S A W) virtues and deeds on this auspicious occasion, urging them to show compassion and support one another, live in harmony with a view to making FUOYE great.
Specifically, the Vice-Chancellor rejoiced with them while urging them to embrace character of Prophet Mohammed’s ( S A W) generosity, simplicity and humility as guides to all believers toward correcting the ills of the society.
“I urge you to be good ambassadors of Islam in all your undertakings and continue to pray for the good of the university and the nation,” Prof. Fasina said.
