…says Fasina is one of Nigeria’s best

A Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Glorious Vision University and former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Emeritus Professor Peter Okebukola has disclosed that the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina has distinguished himself as one of Nigeria’s best Vice Chancellors.
He made this disclosure while delivering his lecture entitled “Navigating Nigeria’s Education Landscape: Can the Dry Bones Rise Again?” at the Engr. Segun Oni’s 70th birthday lecture on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Afe Babalola Event Center, Ado Ekiti, Nigeria.
Engr. Oni, a former Ekiti State governor clocked 70 on September 4.
However, Professor Okebukola, described Prof. Faisna’s giant strides and leadership styles in FUOYE as exemptional, describing Professor Fasina’s uncommon dedication to the development of Education as second to none.
According to the Emeritus Professor the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB), listing Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) as the fourth most sought-after university in Nigeria would only happen when FUOYE’s leadership under Prof. Fasina’s exemplary visionary acumen.
This, he said was not only commendable but would go a long way to register the university on a global map as Nigeria’s best university.
He said: “I want the public to correct the pronunciation of FUOYE as FUOYE and call the public to correct the pronunciation.
I want to commend Prof. Fasina’s exceptional leadership and dedication to the development of education as the Vice- Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE).
While emphasizing Prof. Fasina’s tenacious leadership, the former NUC boss said Prof. Fasina had no doubt written his name gold following a series of infrastructural development dotting the university. commendable

“The progress under Prof. Fasina’s leadership is second to none. This has culminated in the institution being listed as the fourth most sought-after university in Nigeria by the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB),” Prof. Okebukola said.
He, however urged the public to pronounce FUOYE as FUỌ́YẸ́ as “I will ask Oloye to make sure that people correct the pronunciation very well.”
He went on: “Under Prof. Fasina’s leadership, FUOYE has achieved significant academic and sporting success. The Vice-Chancellor has implemented innovative strategies to improve the academic calendar and create a conducive learning environment.”

The university was named after the first Nigerian Superintendent of the church, Pastor Samuel Gbadebo Adegboyega. Presently, the Guest Lecturer, Prof Peter Okebukola for the 70th birthday of Chief Segun Oni is the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of the Ivory Tower.
Dignitaries from all walks of life graced the occasion of the 70th birthday of the former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief (Engr) Segun Adebayo Oni were Senator and former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Mrs. Biodun Olujimi,former Ex Minister of Education Professor Tunde Adeniran, former Vice-Chancellor EKSU, Prof. Dipo Kolawole, Provost, College of Medicine, FUOYE, Professor Patrick Adegun and scores of others.
