Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has recorded another success in the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matrication Examination (UTME), as a Pre-degree candidate of the Ivory Tower, young Fasae Maxwell Oladele, scored a whopping 310 out of the 400 marks obtainable in the exams.

Oladele is an Indigen of Ikole Local Govenment area of Ekiti State, he enrolled for FUOYE’s Predegree programme of the 2022/2023 academic Session l, and chose Nursing. Now, he has secured the admission in merit!.
The pre-degree programme is designed for Senior Secondary School graduands and candidates who have difficulty in securing adequate cut-off mark in UTME for course of their choice in the Universities.

According to the FUOYE Director of the Directorate of Pre-Degree programmes, Prof. Adefemi Adekunle, a Professor of Mechatronics Engineering and an excellent Administrator, the Directorate has been recording unrivalled success and this is on account of the great support of the progressively minded Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, who has given all the necessary support needed for the Directorate to give the best in teaching and research to the students.
The Director also lauded the painstaking efforts of the lecturers specially hired to teach the pre-degree candidates, saying they have been very hard-working, committed and dedicated to their duties.
Adding that the recent academic milestone achieved by the Directorate as represented largely by Oladele’s admirable performance in the 2023 UTME, is a significant improvement, given last year’s highest score secured by a female student of the Directorate who garnered 293, Prof. Adekunle said the percentage of FUOYE’s pre-degree candidates who have been securing admissions into the University, through the programme, has been increasing admirably.

Announcing the latest success, on the University community’s social media platforms, he said: “…Another ground breaker from Predegree Directorate as we have one of our students leading with 310 in this year’s Jamb exam. Fasae Maxwell Oladele, an Indigen of Ikole Local Givenment, a Nursing candidate at Predegree 2022/2023 Academic Session had the highest score which is even better than our last year’s top scorer which was 293. Our Nursing Candidates are always shining. We want to use this medium to appreciate our Goal Driven Vice Chancellor, Professor A. S. Fasina and his Management Team for providing an enabling environment for the system which is producing the best outcome. I want to appreciate all our Predegree Staff and Instructors for their support at all times. We will never relent in our efforts to produce good students for the main stream of our system. Thanks and God bless you all. Engr. Prof. Adekunle Director Predegree, “.
