Towards improving reading and speaking skills of students, Management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has approved the appointment of Prof. Dosun Malomo as the Coordinator of the University’s Metrics of Students’ Reading and Speaking programme.
The appointment was contained in a Management Decision Extract conveyed through an internal memorandum dated August 12, 2026, and signed by the University Registrar, Mr. Muftau A. Ibrahim.
According to the memorandum, the decision was reached at the University Management meeting held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, where Prof. Dosun Malomo’s appointment as Coordinator was considered and approved.
The initiative is designed to strengthen students’ communication abilities through enhanced reading and speaking. It is expected to provide a structured platform for improving students’ proficiency in effective communication, particularly in the areas of reading comprehension, oral expression and confident speaking.
The programme underscores the University Management’s commitment to developing students beyond academic knowledge by equipping them with essential communication skills needed for effective participation in academic, professional and social environments.
The Coordinator has been directed to liaise with the Senior Technical Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Adebola Adewunmi Aderibigbe for further briefing and necessary guidance on the implementation of the programme.
The programme is expected to contribute significantly to the University’s broader objective and vision of the Vice Chancellor , Prof Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole of producing graduates who are not only academically competent but also articulate, confident and effective communicators.
