    FUOYE Basic Medical Sciences Faculty Holds 3rd Faculty Lecture, Flags Off First Medical Outreach

    The Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), will on January 13, 2026, host its 3rd Faculty Lecture alongside the 1st Medical Outreach, as part of deliberate efforts to strengthen public health awareness, promote preventive healthcare, and expand community engagement through medical science.

    The lecture, themed “The Burden of Non-Communicable Diseases Among the Working Class: Medical Laboratories to the Rescue,” is scheduled to hold on January 13, 2026, at the New 1,000 Capacity Auditorium, Phase 2, Oye Campus.

    The Vice-Chancellor of FUOYE, Professor Sunday Abayomi Fasina, will serve as the Chief Host of the event. The lecture will be delivered by Professor I. O. Omotosho, Head of the Biomedical Laboratory Science Department, University of Ibadan, who will attend as the Guest Lecturer.

    Also expected at the event are the Provost, College of Medicine, FUOYE, Professor Olusola Atilade Adeeyo, and the Coordinator of the Medical Outreach, Dr. David Daisi Ajayi, among other academic and medical professionals.

    In addition to the lecture, the Faculty will conduct a free medical outreach from January 14 to 23, 2026, at the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Phase 3, Oye Campus, providing essential health services to members of the university community and the general public.

    The initiative underscores FUOYE’s commitment to community service, health awareness, and the strategic role of medical laboratory sciences in addressing non-communicable diseases among Nigeria’s working population.
