In a major step toward strengthening technological advancement on campus, the management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti has installed a 12kVA hybrid solar inverter at the FUOYE Innovation Hub. This milestone aligns with the administration of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, who has remained committed to equipping students with cutting-edge technological skills, creativity, and problem-solving capacity.

Speaking on the development, the Director of Innovation and Digital Technology, Professor O. S. Ayanda, commended the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, for his unwavering commitment to strengthening the technological backbone of the university. He noted that Prof. Fasina’s administration has consistently demonstrated bold leadership through strategic investments in digital infrastructure, capacity-building programmes, and innovation-driven initiatives that directly empower students. He noted that the installation of the 12kVA hybrid solar inverter is yet another testament to the Vice-Chancellor’s dedication to fostering an enabling environment for tech-driven learning, research, and entrepreneurship.

He also gave special recognition to the Vice-Chancellor-Designate, Professor Joshua Ogunwole, describing him as a visionary leader whose mentorship has continued to shape strategic innovation efforts at FUOYE. According to Prof. Ayanda, Prof. Ogunwole’s depth of experience, guidance, and passion for institutional advancement have been instrumental in refining the university’s innovation roadmap. He highlighted that Prof. Ogunwole’s leadership style—rooted in excellence, collaboration, and empowerment—continues to inspire the Innovation Hub and strengthen its long-term strategic direction.

Prof. Ayanda further thanked the Head of Procurement, Mr. Vincent Ateniola for fast-tracking the procurement and installation of the solar inverter, noting that the timeliness and efficiency of the process demonstrate the collective dedication of staff to the continuous advancement of the University.
The solar-powered upgrade is expected to enhance uninterrupted power supply for training, and digital skill development activities within the FUOYE Innovation Hub.
