The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has recorded another milestone as its Bursar, Dr Adebolanle Adekemisola Debo-Ajagunna, has emerged as the Chairman of the Akoko and District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
The appointment reflects not only Dr Debo-Ajagunna’s outstanding professional accomplishments but also FUOYE’s enduring commitment to excellence, leadership and service.
The Ilara-Mokin-born chartered accountant is a seasoned professional with impressive academic and professional credentials. She will officially assume office as the 6th Chairman of the district at a ceremony that will also feature the inauguration of newly elected executive committee members who will pilot the affairs of the society for the 2026/2027 administrative year.
The event is expected to attract distinguished members of the accounting profession, government officials, academics, members of the FUOYE community and other stakeholders who will add colours to the formal inauguration of the new leadership of the district society.
The Ondo State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Pastor (Hon.) Adebola Adefuwagun, will serve as the Chairman of the Day, while the 62nd President of ICAN, Hajia Queensley S. Seghosime, mni, FCA, is expected as the Chief Host. The Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University,(AAUA), Prof. Olugbenga Ige, will host the historic event.
A major highlight of the programme will be the investiture lecture titled, “Financial Stewardship Today: Beyond Compliance to Value Creation,” to be delivered by Mrs Omomofe Akitunde, Co-Founder of Colt Systems Consulting. The lecture is expected to provide participants with practical insights into contemporary financial management practices and the evolving role of accountants in driving sustainable value creation.
Chairman of the Investiture Planning Committee, Mr Tobi Orina, FCA, said the event is designed not only to celebrate a transition in leadership but also to reinforce the values of professionalism, accountability and excellence for which ICAN is renowned.
The investiture and swearing-in ceremony is expected to further strengthen the role of the Akoko and District Society in advancing professional development, promoting ethical standards and enhancing capacity building among accounting professionals within and beyond the district.
Stakeholders and members of the public have been invited to attend the event, which promises to be a memorable gathering of professionals committed to advancing excellence in the accounting profession and contributing to national development.
The investiture ceremony is scheduled to hold on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the OBJ Hall, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State.
