The Faculty of Communication and Media Studies (CMS), Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria in conjunction with Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olubunmi Shittu on Wednesday May 21st, 2025 during office hours.
However, the group was warmly received by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, who gave a brief history of the university.
Besides, he took time out to eulogise Dean of Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Prof. Chika Asogwa for the feat already attained by the faculty under her tutelage.
Professor Shittu said the Faculty which started under her leadership as a department had leveled up to a Faculty where other department had been unbundled through her tremendous effort.
While highlighting vital roles of communication as an integral part of human interaction, he said the faculty had evolved into prominence.
However, the ACSPN team leader, Professor Rotimi Olatunji, who doubled as president of the Association, said how he was fully involved in the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies accreditation process a few months back.
Also, he said he was an internal stakeholder due to his contribution as an external examiner of the faculty.
Professor Olatunji, however, commended Professor Asogwa for being a leading voice in the media profession.
Other team members present at the courtesy visit were Comrade Lanre Arogundade, Dr. Solomon Oyeleye and Mr. Adesina Sunday.
