    FUOYE CONGRATULATES BUSAYO AND AJAYI-OMOLEHIN ON THEIR APPOINTMENTS AS LIBRARIAN AND BURSAR

    The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) proudly congratulates Prof. Isaac Oluwadare Busayo, outgoing University Librarian, and Mrs Racheal Ajayi-Omolehin, Deputy Bursar, on their appointments as Librarian and Bursar of the newly established Federal University of Technology and Environmental Studies, Iyin-Ekiti.

    Prof. Busayo has been a pillar of FUOYE’s library system, shaping its growth with dedication and strategic insight. With the support of management, he has elevated the library to a world-class standard. Likewise, Mrs Ajayi-Omolehin has played a crucial role in strengthening FUOYE’s financial administration, demonstrating exceptional diligence and expertise. Their appointments underscore FUOYE’s tradition of excellence and its commitment to nurturing top-tier professionals.

    Professor Isaac Oluwadare Busayo

    Professor Isaac Oluwadare Busayo hails from Ogotun-Ekiti in Ekiti South West Local Government Area of Ekiti State, where he was born on 10th December 1961. For his post-secondary education, he attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and the University of Ibadan. He holds a Diploma in Library Science from ABU, Zaria (1987), a Bachelor’s degree in Guidance and Counselling (1996), a Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies (2001), and a PhD in Media Resources Management (2016), all from the University of Ibadan.

    Professor Busayo began his career in librarianship as a Library Officer at the then University of Ado-Ekiti (UNAD), now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, in October 1987. He steadily progressed through the ranks, becoming an Assistant Chief Library Officer in 2002 and Librarian I in 2005. In 2006, he was appointed Principal Librarian at the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti. He later joined the University of Education, Ikere-Ekiti, in October 2008 as a Senior Librarian and Acting University Librarian. Similarly, in October 2009, he was appointed Principal Librarian and Head of Technical Services at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, before transferring his service to the Federal University Oye-Ekiti in October 2013 in the same capacity.

    His career trajectory continued with his appointment as Deputy University Librarian in October 2017, followed by his role as Deputy University Librarian and Head of Ikole Campus Libraries from January to September 2020. He was subsequently appointed University Librarian in October 2020, a position he continues to hold.

    Professor Busayo has made significant scholarly contributions to the field of Library and Information Science, with approximately forty publications in both national and international journals.

    He is happily married to Mrs Iyabode Dupe Busayo, an administrator, and their union is blessed with children and grandchildren.

    Mrs Ajayi Adeniyi Rachael: A Trailblazer in Financial Management
    Mrs Ajayi Adeniyi Rachael was born on 3rd July 1973 in Uneme Ekpedo, Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State. She holds a B.Sc. in Accounting (Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, 2000) and a Master’s in Banking and Finance (ABU, 2008). She completed her National Youth Service (NYSC) at ABU’s Bursary Department in 2001, setting the stage for a distinguished career in financial administration.

    Mrs Ajayi Adeniyi Rachael

    She began her professional journey as an Accountant II at the Forestry Research Institute under the Federal Ministry of Environment, where she rose to the rank of Principal Accountant. In 2016, she joined FUOYE as a Chief Accountant and was promoted to Deputy Bursar in 2022.

    Mrs Ajayi has held several key positions, including:

    • Officer in Charge of Treasury, Salary, and Final Accounts at the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna
    • Acting College Bursar during a study leave period
    • Head of Treasury Unit, Final Accounts, Expenditure Control, Accounting Services Division, and Auxiliary Unit at FUOYE
    • Financial Controller, FUOYE College of Medicine

    A seasoned accountant with over 16 years of experience, Mrs Ajayi is a Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), a Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Commerce and Industry of Nigeria (CICIN).

    Beyond her professional achievements, she is a dedicated wife and mother who enjoys reading, travelling, and effective communication.

    In his congratulatory message, FUOYE’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, described the appointments of Prof. Busayo and Mrs Ajayi-Omolehin as a testament to the university’s role in grooming high-calibre professionals who continue to make an impact at the national level. He praised them as worthy ambassadors whose expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Studies, Iyin-Ekiti.

    These appointments also highlight FUOYE’s manpower-driven excellence, as the university has consistently produced top talents for strategic national assignments. Notably, scholars such as Prof. Rasaki Ojo Bakare and Prof. Habibat Adubiaro have also been called upon for key leadership roles, reaffirming FUOYE’s reputation as a hub of intellectual and professional excellence.
