Today, 3 June 2026, the second phase of LearnTech 2.0, themed “Designing a Compelling PowerPoint Presentation for Effective Communication,” was successfully held at the FUOYE Innovation Hub.
The event brought together undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti for an intensive hands-on training designed to enhance their presentation, communication, and digital skills through the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.
Facilitated by Prof. O. S. Ayanda, Director of Innovation and Digital Technology, the workshop introduced participants to the principles of effective presentation design and demonstrated how AI-powered platforms can be leveraged to create engaging and professional presentations.
During the training, participants learned how to brainstorm presentation topics, generate presentation content, structure slide decks, create visually appealing designs, and improve audience engagement. Speaking during the workshop, Prof. Ayanda emphasized the growing importance of digital communication skills in academia and the workplace. He encouraged students to embrace emerging technologies and continuously develop competencies that will enhance their academic performance, research activities, employability, and entrepreneurial pursuits.
The student-focused training concludes the two-day LearnTech 2.0 programme, which commenced on 2 June 2026 with a dedicated capacity-building session for members of staff of the University. The initiative reflects the commitment of the FUOYE Innovation Hub to promoting digital literacy, innovation, and the adoption of emerging technologies across the University community.
LearnTech 2.0 further reinforces FUOYE’s vision of producing graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills, and digital competencies required to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
