It’s heartwarming news as the upwardly mobile Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) shall be partnering with a Chicago State based firm, First Eye Concept, to establish a solar plant on the University campus.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of First Eye concept Chicago, Chief Wole Duroladipo, who is son of legendary Nigerian Theatre icon, late Duro Ladipo, was on FUOYE campus to discuss the modalities towards realizing the lofty dream with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, on Thursday at the VC’s office.
Chief Duroladipo was accompanied by FUOYE’s Director of International Linkages, Prof. Adefemi Adekunle, Nigeria’s first Professor of Mechatronics Engineering, who facilitated the laudable infrastructural project.
While briefing the University media team, Prof Adekunle said: “The CEO First Eye Concept Chicago, Chief Wole Duroladipo came to interact with the VC on how FUOYE is trending Internationally. And what people are saying about a new generation University, competing with old generation ones. He concluded by saying in time past, stories about FUOYE was negatively impacted, but during the three years of Prof. Fasina, it has turned around to erase the negative effects, and turned to an impressive memoir. The output of FUOYE Mechatronics projects on international discourse brought about an organization that wants to partner with FUOYE on Solar Plant to be established at FUOYE for others to buy at the Institution. The Company is bid to feature this at the Conference to be held in Chicago this year.”
When completed, the solar plant promises to be an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) mechanism to shore up the revenue of the institution.
