The Federal University Oye-Ekiti has accomplished yet another noteworthy feat, ranking 10th among Nigerian universities and 38th across Sub-Saharan Africa in the recently released Times Higher Education (THE) Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings.

Announced on November 27, 2024, the rankings evaluate sub-saharan African universities based on criteria such as teaching quality, regional impact, financial stability, and efforts to address inequality. The recognition of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti in this ranking reflects the outstanding leadership and commitment of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Abayomi S Fasina and the management team, and the dedication of the University to fostering academic excellence, promoting impactful research, and addressing pressing social challenges. This acknowledgment also underscores the commitment of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti to not only equipping students with quality education but also driving meaningful change through community engagement, innovation, and policies aimed at reducing inequalities.

Notably, the university has now ranked in multiple Times Higher Education categories, including the World University Rankings, Impact Rankings, Interdisciplinary Science Rankings, and the Sub-Saharan Africa Rankings.

Reacting to the announcement, the Vice-Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Abayomi S. Fasina commended the university staff for their dedication and encouraged them to continue making a positive impact on students, the host community, the nation, and the world. He also encouraged a collective pursuit of excellence to further elevate the profile of the institution.
