The management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has strengthened its anti-corruption and transparency drive with the appointment of Dr. Olusegun A. Efuntade as Desk Officer of the University’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit.
The appointment, which took effect on July 16, 2026, was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Joshua O. Ogunwole, and conveyed in an official letter signed by the Registrar, Mr. Mufutau A. Ibrahim.

Before his appointment, Dr. Efuntade served as Deputy Bursar in the School of Postgraduate Studies. His new responsibility is expected to reinforce the University’s commitment to promoting transparency, accountability and ethical conduct in its administrative processes.
According to the appointment letter, the new Desk Officer will be responsible to the Chairman of the FUOYE Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit in handling all matters relating to anti-corruption and transparency within the University. He is also expected to carry out any other duties assigned to him in furtherance of the Unit’s mandate.
The appointment letter further stated that the position is subject to periodic review and may be terminated should he be found incapable of providing the expected quality leadership required for the assignment.
The University charged Dr. Efuntade to discharge his responsibilities with vigour, commitment and dedication while upholding the highest ethical standards expected of the office.

The appointment consolidates FUOYE’s resolve to strengthen institutional mechanisms that promote transparency, accountability and integrity, in line with the University’s commitment to good governance and global best practices.
The management expressed confidence in his capacity to provide effective leadership in advancing the objectives of the Unit.
While congratulating Dr. Efuntade on the additional responsibility, the University urged him to formally communicate his acceptance of the appointment and wished him success in the discharge of his new duties.
