In a significant show of support for its expanding postgraduate offerings, the top management team of the Federal University Oye‑Ekiti (FUOYE) paid a strategic visit to the two locations of FUOYE Business School (FBS) in Ado‑Ekiti earlier today — namely, the Ado‑Ekiti Centre at Christ’s School and the FBS Premium Executive Centre on Bank Road.
The delegation was led by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olubunmi Shittu, and included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (SPRIL), Professor Joshua Ogunwole; University Registrar, Mr. Mufutau Ibrahim; Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Professor Babatunde Afolabi; and Mr. Ateniola, Head of Procurement.
They were received by the Acting Director of FUOYE Business School, Dr. Adepoju Asaolu, along with the Deputy Directors, Dr. Omowumi Oshatimi and Dr. Sunday Olasehinde, Administrative Secretary, Mr. Muyiwa Adeyemi, and other members of the FBS team.
The visit began with a tour of the Premium Executive Centre at God’s Grace Complex (adjacent to Ecobank, Bank Road), followed by an inspection of the second Centre located at Christ’s School. During the visit, Dr. Asaolu highlighted the rapid growth of the Business School, showcasing facilities such as multimedia studios, an e‑library, five dedicated classrooms, a multipurpose hall, and executive offices. He also confirmed that admissions are ongoing for the 2025/2026 academic session across the School’s five NUC-approved postgraduate programs.
The visit offered the management team a firsthand look at where FBS began and its current standing. The interactive sessions were engaging and insightful, focusing on strategic plans to position FUOYE Business School as a top-tier institution in Nigeria and across Africa. Facility inspections were conducted, with gaps identified and proactive solutions proposed.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor and other top officials expressed strong approval of the infrastructure and the academic direction of the School. They reaffirmed FUOYE’s commitment to providing strategic support — including funding, staffing, and academic resources — to strengthen the Business School’s competitive edge both nationally and globally. Discussions also touched on expanding access to qualified students from Ekiti State and neighbouring regions.
Professor Shittu commended the leadership of FBS for its clear vision and commended the School’s progress as a reflection of FUOYE’s broader commitment to accessible, high-quality education in business and management.
It is worth noting that FUOYE Business School is the first of its kind in Ekiti State, and is widely regarded as one of the fastest-growing Business Schools in Nigeria. Established under the leadership of Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina, FBS is a visionary project that has already graduated its first set of 49 Master’s students, with a significantly higher number expected at the next convocation.
The visit concluded with a solemn prayer session led by Professor Shittu, as the team collectively committed the School’s future into God’s hands. As momentum continues to build, FUOYE Business School looks forward to entering the third phase of its development, which will include relocation to its permanent site in the near future.
