…rewards outstanding scientists in faculty week’s celebration

The Faculty of Science, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), will hold an International Science Conference from May 8, 2023 to May 12th, 2023. Titled: ‘The role of science and technology in harnessing sustainable development goals in Post Covid-19 Era, the international conference is a major part of an annual faculty week celebration which features other exciting and academically enlightening programmes such as seminars on public health, safety and others.

According to a release made available to the University media team by the chairman, Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the conference, Prof. O.O Oketayo, there will be seminars on
8th and 9th May, 2023, on topics such as “Hypertension: Causes, effects and Management”, to be delivered by a renown Cardiologist, Prof. P. O. Akinwusi; “Fire safety and management”, to be delivered by a fire officer, Mr. F. I. Akinjobi, and “Mentee-mentor relationship in academics,” to be delivered by Prof. D. A. Agboola, with intensive practical sessions.

To add colour to the event, awards of excellence will be conferred on some deserving and distinguished scientists in recognition of their admirable contribution to the advancement of the faculty, scholarship and professionalism.
While there will be a session for quiz competition among top Secondary School Science students to cater for the academic needs of young scientists. May 10th to 12th, 2023 will feature keynote addresses by international and dynamic scholars.

The statement further disclosed that the sub-themes of the international conference
Included but not limited to, SDGs in bioscience, physical science, agriculture, mining, and geosciences, nanotechnology, information and communication technology, engineering and robotic science, food
Science and technology, environmental design and
management.
