    (S.A Media to VC)

It’s great news breaking as the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) Business School has stormed the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, to give rare opportunity to hundreds of residents and professionals living in the city to upgrade their professional qualifications in relevant fields. Director of FUOYE Business School, Dr. Asaolu Adepoju, broke the exciting news to the University media team on Friday in a statement.

Dr. Asaolu, an astute academic and seasoned scholar in the field, gave useful information in a brief interview with the University Media team. Excerpts:

Congratulations on your recent progress in taking the FUOYE Business School to Abuja, what fortunes does this laudable development bring to the School?

Dr. Asaolu: Like we all know the vision of our Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Abayomi Fasina, transcends myopism, he believes so much in extending the frontiers and making all our highly priced programs accessible to all by heading off all forms of geographical barriers or limitations by optimizing the virtual space. Without mincing words, having a hub around Abuja corridor will increase our visibility, notch up our IGR and offer the platform to getting more contemporary researchers into our research net, among others.

What are the programmes that the Business School would make available for prospective applicants in Abuja?.:

Dr. Asaolu: Thank you. As at today we have 5-NUC approved programmes namely; Doctor of Business Administration (DBA); Doctor of Public Administration (DPA); Master of Business Administration- Executive (eMBA); Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Master of Banking & Finance (MBF).

We also offer short circuit certificate programmes, Corporate / Professional Management Training programs and customized programs to meet peculiar needs or fill institutional gaps.

What is the progress report on the Ado-Ekiti campus of the FUOYE Business School?:

Dr Asaolu: Our trajectory in Ado -Ekiti has been massive: between 2023/2024 session and 2024/2025 we grew by modest 35% Year on Year (YoY) in terms of student acquisition, then we made a leap of 100% using the same Key Performance Indicator (KPI) between 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 sessions. You’ll recall that earlier this year, 49 Master students graduated and we can confirm to you that the next convocation (2026) will witness an increase of over 85% in the number those that’ll be graduating ( at Masters’ & Doctoral levels). Any one passing through the vibrant bank road, Ado -Ekiti on Friday evenings and Saturdays will attest to the level of traffic around our place of operation.

What is your plan for further expansion in the nearest future?:

Dr. Asaolu : By God’s grace, we want to be global in view of the world itself being a global village. While, we’ll leverage on the sustainable growth we have at our base, we’ll flow deeply, seek and explore collaborations with notable local, regional and international business schools that share the same value of bringing the town and the gown together in productive engagements. We’ll optimize the virtual space. Ultimately, we want to be the leading Business School producing entrepreneurs, innovators and world changers, those who’ll raise the bar and shift the posts. The type of school that de-emphasises theories that do not fit into contemporary demands of this age. More of critical reasoning and problems solving. Case study-based learning is the in thing and we’ll play deeply there.

What other things would you like the public and prospective applicants to know?.

Dr. Asaolu: Thank you, we’ll like our prospective applicants to quickly find their spots within the limited and highly competitive space we have. In terms of flexibility, we are there. No clash of interest with where they work because our mode is executive in nature (physical classes are Friday evenings & Saturdays only ), the hybrid mode is worth mentioning as well (a very large percentage of the time is skewed towards virtual learning than physical version), the cutting-edge technology deployed to deliver our offerings is key to modern learning and the fact that we run a very stable calendar, i.e, before students resume, they have a clear idea of the date they’ll be concluding the programme, the sweeteners are endless.
