Vice Chancellor, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole returned to the campus today after official duties that had taken him to Abuja and Lagos.
Upon his return, I greeted him warmly and pleaded with him to take pictures with him in order to convince those who were spreading rumours that he was arrested and detained by the police over his role as Chief Returning Officer in the just concluded Osun state governorship election that they have been building their castles in the air.
“SS, forget about that. Let the story die a natural death. You can see that nobody arrested me. Leave those people alone. Let them be enjoying themselves with their fiction. I have more serious matters to attend to, than to be responding to lazy people who like to fabricate lies”, Prof. Ogunwole replied.
But, as Director of Public Affairs and Communication, it is my duty to create news out of no news. With this library picture, it is on record that Prof. Ogunwole has returned to his office, attending to various matters affecting FUOYE. His mission is to rebrand the university. And, that is what he does every day.
