It was a joyous occasion as the Registrar of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) , Alhaji Mufutau Ibrahim gave out his first daughter in marriage with so much to eat and drink amidst fun and fanfare.
The colourful marriage between Mariam Temitope Ibrahim, and her heartrob, Ridwan Kayode Ayefele which drew well wishers, friends and family members from far and near was indeed a celebration of love as participants danced and ate to satiety.
The wedding rites commenced with the Aqdun Nikah (Islamic marriage solemnisation) held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the residence of the bride’s father, Alhaji Mufutau Ibrahim, located behind Hon. Seyi Shittu Block Industry, Onala Abeaba, Ado-Ekiti. The solemn ceremony featured prayers and blessings led by Islamic clerics, who offered spiritual guidance for the couple’s union, praying for peace, love, and enduring harmony in their marriage.
The celebrations continued on Saturday, April 4, 2026, with a colourful traditional engagement and reception at the AB Foundation Civic Centre, Opopogboro Road, Adebayo, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. The event was marked by vibrant cultural displays, music, and a festive atmosphere as family members, friends, and well-wishers gathered to honour the newlyweds.
Both families, Alhaji and Alhaja Mufutau Adesina Ibrahim, and Imam and Alhaja Ismail Ayefele, formally blessed the union, offering prayers for divine guidance, wisdom, and a fruitful marital life. They emphasized the importance of love, patience, and mutual respect as the foundation of a successful home.
The ceremony attracted a wide array of guests, including members of the FUOYE management team, Senate members, council members, and staff from various departments. Notably, the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of FUOYE, Abayomi Sunday Fasina, attended the event alongside his wife, lending further prominence to the occasion.
Guests also travelled from different parts of the country, including Osun and Kwara States, reflecting the widespread connections of the families and the significance of the event.
Traditional rulers and community leaders were also present, including the Regent of Ayegbaju-Ekiti Kingdom, whose attendance added royal splendour to the ceremony.
The wedding was widely described as a memorable and joyous occasion, symbolising not only the union of two individuals but also the coming together of families, cultures, and communities in celebration.
