A metallurgical and Materials Engineer and Chief Executive Officer of SALTA Infrastructure and Construction Company, Engr. Kayode Olubunmi Ojo, has been inaugurated as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE.), Ekiti State, Nigeria.
His inauguration alongside other members of the Governing Council took place at the National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja following his nomination and appointment by the Federal Government.

Following his inauguration alongside other Federal tertiary institutions’ Governing Council chairmen and members, Engineer Ojo became the fifth FUOYE Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council.
Also inaugurated along with the Pro-Chancellor, Engr. Ojo were Rt Hon. Nike Omoworare, Barr. Maxwell Gowon, Hon. Mrs. Ifeoma Ndukwe and Hajiya Nafisa Nahuche Aminu.

They were inaugurated in Abuja on Thursday 4th of July, 2024 by the Minister of Education, Mr. Tahir Mamman, who stood in for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
However, the Pro-Chancellor met with the University management, being led by Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina in what appeared as his inaugural meeting, where he pledged his commitment and support for the University leadership.
Accordingly, Engr. Ojo pledged his determination to pilot FUOYE to enviable heights, saying his wealth of experience would be put in motion for the progress of the university.

Specifically, he assured the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Fasina of his support and determination to further fast-track ongoing infrastructural development of the university as which he said was dear to his heart.
Besides, the Pro-Chancellor assured the Vice-Chancellor and his team that he would apply his wealth of experience from both the business world and politics to reposition FUOYE for optimal support for the Vice-Chancellor-led team.
He said: “I hope to turn things around in FUOYE with my wealth of experience for the betterment of students and the university community. I will lead and others will follow and because I have a name to protect I am determined to work for the upliftment of FUOYE.”
Meanwhile, FUOYE Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fasina expressed satisfaction at the appointment of the Pro-Chancellor while looking forward to a symbiotic-working relationship with Engr. Ojo and other members of the university’s Governing Council with a view to enhancing FUOYE’S steady growth.

While congratulating the Pro-Chancellor and other members of the Council, Prof. Fasina said Engr. Ojo’s extensive experience and dedication to excellence which qualified him for the appointment would no doubt catapult FUOYE to enviable heights and ‘FUOYE of our dream.’
