It was pomp on Wednesday as the Governing Council of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) approved the appointment of the Director of the Centre for Continuing Education, Dr. Omolade Adeleke, to the professorial cadre.

Dr Adeleke was appointed as Associate Professor by the Appointments and Promotion Committee A&PC of the University on Monday, March 13, 2023, after due procedure was followed according to the Regulations of the Ivory Tower.
The newly minted Associate Professor of Economics has won the NRF sponsorship research grant in South Africa twice. He also clinched the TETFUND research grants in FUOYE in the year 2018.
Dr. Adeleke had his first and second Degrees in Economics from Ekiti State University (EKSU). He bagged his and PhD in Economics from the University of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa .
He was appointed Deputy Director, lnstitute of Part Time Studies (IPTS) in 2021 and after serving for about two years as the director of IPTS and considering his numerous achievements within the two years in charge of IPTS which has ensured that both assets and revenue of the University improved tremendously, the management elevated him the Director of the Institute and in 2023 elevated further to the post of the Director, Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) of FUOYE. He has both the institutes of part time studies and Distant Learning under his purview as the Director of CCE.
Dr.Adeleke has over 40 publications in accredited journals with 20 in scopus and Ibss indexed .
He is a Research fellow to the University of KwaZulu Natal South Africa and has successfully produced three PhD graduates.
He is also an External Examiner to the University of Cape Town, University of Johannesburg and University of KwaZulu Natal all in South Africa. The Associate Professor of Economics has attended academic conferences across the globe and such included the US, UK, Netherlands, South Africa among others
As part of his academic and administrative laurels, Dr. Adeleke won the best Director in the entire University for two consecutive years of 2021 and 2022. He also emerged the students’ lecturer of the year at both Faculty and Departmental levels of the 2018/2019 academic session.
