A major highlight of the FUOYE Innovation Bootcamp 2025 was the powerful and insightful session led by Professor O.S. Ayanda, the Director of Innovation and Digital Technology at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti.

Facilitating on the theme “From Vision to Impact: Mapping the Innovation Journey,” Prof. Ayanda took participants through a transformative learning experience focused on problem identification and the creation of elegant, practical solutions. His session centered around six core elements of innovation — ideas, intelligence, solutions, inspiration, creativity, and vision — providing a comprehensive framework for driving innovation from concept to reality.

One of the key strategies employed during the session was team-based learning. Students were grouped into teams of five, each assigned leadership roles including CEO, DCEO, CTO, CSO, and CRO. They identified pressing issues within FUOYE, Ekiti State, Nigeria, and globally, drawing inspiration from the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Prof. Ayanda introduced participants to tools and techniques such as mind mapping, SCAMPER, and design thinking brainstorming, guiding them in developing innovative solutions. He also taught students how to use digital applications to create brand identities, business names, and write compelling value proposition statements.

His engaging and interactive style left a lasting impression on the students, many of whom described the session as inspiring and empowering. The Bootcamp, under his guidance, not only enhanced students’ understanding of innovation but also equipped them with real-world tools to become changemakers in their communities.

Prof. Ayanda’s contribution underscored FUOYE’s vision of producing creative, enterprise-driven graduates ready to lead and innovate on both local and global stages.
