…disassociates self from fake news announcing Jan 8

Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has described as fake news a report circulating in the social media that academic activities of the University for the on-going 2023/2024 session would resume on January 8, 2024.
The fake circular dated January 2, 2024 has misleading report stating that the Senate had reconsidered resumption date of academic activities of the university and approved January 8, 2024 as new resumption date.
But in a swift reaction, the University management has disassociated itself from the fake circular.
An official circular signed by Abiola Adekunle Silo for the Registrar of University, Mr. Mufutau Ibrahim, and dated January 3, 2024, reiterated that resumption for academic activities on FUOYE campus remains January 22, 2024.
The memo, entitled : “ Calendar on resumption of academic activities “, reads in part: “ The attention oif the University management has been drawn to a “fake circular” in social media and other platforms directing students to resume on Monday, January 8, 2024.
The University management disassociate itself from the “fake circular” and enjoined students to disregard the information in the circular.
Consequently, the University management reiterates that the resumption date for academic activities remains unchanged as Monday, January 22, 2024. “
