    Student friendly: NANS passes vote-of-confidence on FUOYE Director of Centre for Continuing Education

    The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has passed a vote of confidence on the Director of the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Dr. Adeleke Omolade, describing him as an exemplary leader who has taken the Centre to greater heights for the benefit of the students.

    This was just as the Director appreciated the Vice-Chancelllor of the University, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, his management team and all progressively minded Nigerians, particularly from Ekiti State who have contributed immensely to the success of the Centre.

    A letter notifying Dr. Adeleke of his warm endorsement by NANS and co- signed by Comrade Owolewa Taiwo , Deputy Coordinator, NANS, southwest and his Chief Press Secretary, Ayodele K lbimilua, reads in part: ”The office of the Deputy Coordinator, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) southwest zone, unequivocally voices its profound appreciation and extends a robust vote-of-confidence in Dr. Adeleke Omolade , the accomplished Director of the Centre for Continuing Education, Federal University Oye-Ekiti. Dr. Adeleke’s adroit management skills and unyielding commitment to excellence have indeed catapulted the Centre to new heights fostering environment conducive for learning and intellectual growth .

    “His sterling leadership is testament to his incomparable acumen, a trait that continues to inspire the students body and fortify the institution’s standing in the academic landscape.

    “Furthermore, the association wishes to express its appreciation towards the Vice-Chancellor for his astute discernment in the appointment of such a capable Director.

    “It is under his sagacious guidance that the University continually cultivates a cadre of exemplary leaders in the likes of Dr. Adeleke.

    “The association is convinced that with such leadership, the Centre for Continuing education will continue to be a beacon of knowledge, illuminating the path for future generation of scholars,.”

    Responding, an elated Dr. Adeleke said: “ We give students a sense of belonging here.
    I don’t handle students’ matters with levity.
    We allowed them to elect their leaders.
    They even chose members of staff who are to represent them in their executives.
    They had an hitch-free poll because we didn’t interfere. I am a leader with listening ears. I was once a student and l know giving students sense of belonging is key to the growth of the institution.

    “I prioritize students’ agitation
    and I mentor them. I have been doing my best on students’ welfare and others.
    I have spent close to one million Naira to pay school fees of indigent students who are brilliant .

    Appreciating NANS for the gesture, Adeleke who is an Associate Professor of Economics, added: “We appreciate the vote-of-confidence that was passed on me and this will spur us to perform more. And l assure you, we are organizing a hall of fame for all those eminent Nigerians from Ekiti who have supported us. “

    President, FUOYE students’ union, comrade Ebo Timilehin Jonathan, who joined the southwest NANS deputy coordinator to present the honour, also said: “The first time l was here, l told the students that Dr Adeleke is a father figure to me and he is same to them also. On behalf of the students of Part Time, I appreciate you. Our students have been saying positive things about you. You have been doing very well . We will always be there for you to make sure things go on well. “
