According to a report by Tribune on Sunday, October 5, 2025, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, has commended teachers across the country for their dedication to building society, as part of activities marking this year’s National Teachers Day.
He particularly appreciated the efforts of FUOYE lecturers and their colleagues elsewhere for their role in shaping the future of the nation through education.
In his statement on Sunday, Ndoma-Egba drew attention to the importance of this year’s theme, “Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession.”
He noted that the theme highlights the idea that education thrives best in a community where knowledge is shared and innovation is achieved through cooperation.
He stressed that collaboration not only strengthens the teaching profession but also enhances the growth of society at large.
He said,> “Together, we must shape FUOYE into a university of global standing, an institution where knowledge produces wisdom, where a commitment to advancing society drives our research and innovation, and where leadership is defined by integrity and character.”
The Pro-Chancellor explained that teachers must be continually encouraged to give their best because societal progress depends largely on the strength of education.
He pointed out that when educators work together across disciplines, institutions, and national borders, the impact on learning and development becomes more visible and sustainable.
Ndoma-Egba also emphasized that collaboration multiplies impact, making education more resilient and inclusive.
He observed that when teachers pool their efforts, they not only expand knowledge but also foster equity within the education sector. This, he said, ensures that learning remains accessible to all, while also preparing the next generation of leaders for the challenges of the modern world.
He further remarked that FUOYE, under its mission, must continue to aim at global standards by fostering innovation, integrity, and strong leadership values.
According to him, the university must serve as a center where knowledge produces wisdom, research addresses societal needs, and character remains central to leadership development.
