Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) proudly announces a significant milestone in academia and
innovation with the attainment of the license to host the inaugural TEDxFUOYE event, approved
by TED, a distinguished non-profit media organization headquartered in New York and Canada.
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, usually in the form of short,
powerful talks (18 minutes or fewer) delivered by today’s leading thinkers and doers. Many of
these talks are given at TED’s annual conference in Vancouver, British Columbia; the TEDWomen
conference; the TED Summit conference; and, internationally, TEDx events. TED speakers have
included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Filbert, Sir Richard Branson, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan, and Daniel Kahneman.
This latest achievement underscores FUOYE’s commitment to fostering a culture of creativity and intellectual growth and has been made possible through the tireless effort and unwavering dedication of Olaoluwa Oladipo, a student of Pharmacy and Laughter Atanda, a recent graduate of the Department of History & International Studies.

About what triggered this pursuit. “I was passionate about leaving a legacy behind following my
graduation.
FUOYE students needed to be exposed beyond the four walls of the classrooms, to the
SDGs, the Future of Work, Agriculture, climate change, innovation, technology, and the rest.
Obtaining a TEDx license was necessary despite the setbacks, the goal is to create an electrifying
platform where ideas transcend mere inspiration and become a catalyst for positive action in the
university community. Great doers like Ibukun Awosika, Layi Wasabi, Nadayar Enegesi, Hon.
Seun Fakuade, Temilade Salami, and Babatunde Onakoya are part of our proposed speakers
