Warning: Fake Admission Letters
The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has alerted prospective applicants seeking admission into the University for the 2026/2027 academic session to the activities of fraudsters circulating fake admission letters and demanding payment of acceptance fees.
The warning became necessary following reports that some unscrupulous individuals have begun sending purported admission letters to unsuspecting applicants, while directing them to make payments before alleged deadlines.
The University, therefore, urges prospective students, parents, guardians and members of the public to exercise utmost caution and disregard any admission communication that does not originate from the University’s authorised channels.
FUOYE emphasises that the University does not request applicants to make payments directly into any bank account. All legitimate payments to the University are processed online through the official FUOYE payment portal.
Consequently, any request asking an applicant to transfer money into a personal or unauthorised bank account, or to make payment through any platform outside the approved FUOYE online payment system, should be treated as fraudulent.
Prospective applicants are advised to verify their admission status through the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) and the University’s official communication channels before making any payment or taking further steps regarding their admission.
The University further encourages members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid sharing sensitive personal or financial information with unverified individuals.
Do not fall victim to fraudsters. Verify before you pay.
